Couple Lose Everything in West Ballina House Fire

A couple escaped with only the clothes on their backs after a fire gutted their Hayman Street home late Sunday night.
Flames were spilling out windows and through the roof when firefighters arrived, with the blaze believed to have been sparked by an electrical fault in a wall cavity.
Crews worked hard to contain the fire before it damaged neighbouring homes.
Tracy Williams and her partner were left devastated, losing all belongings — an especially cruel blow as it fell on Tracy’s birthday.
Fire and Rescue crews said the incident is a reminder for households to check wiring and avoid overloaded power boards.
