Richmond Police District is appealing for witnesses after a Woolworths staff member was seriously injured during an assault at Goonellabah.

The incident happened at the Woolworths supermarket on Simeoni Drive on Sunday, May 17, between 12.20pm and 12.30pm.

The staff member was struck across the face with a glass bottle, causing significant injury.

Lismore Detectives are seeking information from anyone who was inside the store, in the car park, or nearby during that time.

Police are particularly keen to hear from people who may have seen the incident or noticed anything relevant in the area.
