A Brunswick Heads man facing multiple child abuse material and animal sexual abuse charges has had his bail conditions varied in Byron Bay Local Court.

Tore Milazzo, 47, appeared before Judge Kathy Crittenden on Monday where the court varied a bail agreement first entered on June 9.

Milazzo is facing nine charges including possessing and producing child abuse material, sexually touching an animal, producing animal sexual touching material, attempting to commit animal sexual abuse and committing animal sexual abuse.

He is also charged with firearm storage and drug-related offences.

On Monday, the court imposed a new condition prohibiting Milazzo from going near, or attempting to go near, a newly specified protected location.

His reporting requirements were also changed and Milazzo must report to Tweed Heads Police Station once daily between 8am and 8pm from Tuesday to Sunday until August 3.

From August 4, he must resume daily reporting at Brunswick Heads Police Station.

Milazzo also remains prohibited from owning or possessing any animals, domestic or otherwise, with police previously alleging during bail proceedings that he sexually abused his own dog.

Other continuing bail conditions prevent him from contacting co-accused Stina Wangqvist, except through a lawyer.

He is also prohibited from contacting prosecution witnesses.

He must not enter any international airport or other departure point from Australia and he must not apply for an Australian passport.

Milazzo is also restricted to one mobile phone service and SIM card and he must provide police with the phone’s password or PIN, service details and IMEI number.

 Police investigation by Tweed-Byron Detectives

Police allege the investigation uncovered child abuse material and animal sexual abuse material.

The investigation led to the arrest of Milazzo and Lennox Head osteopath and yoga teacher Stina Wangqvist earlier this month.

Wangqvist, 48, is facing charges of producing child abuse material, committing animal sexual abuse and possessing animal sexual abuse material.

She was granted strict conditional bail following her arrest which include daily reporting to Ballina Police Station between 8am and 8pm.

She must surrender her passport and reside at an approved address.

She must also refrain from using social media.

Wangqvist is prohibited from contacting children, the alleged victim, Milazzo or any prosecution witnesses except through a legal representative.

Neither Milazzo nor Wangqvist has entered pleas to the charges.

The allegations remain before the courts and have not been proven.

Milazzo’s matter is next listed at Byron Bay Local Court on August 3 for a brief status committal mention.

Wangqvist is due to return to Ballina Local Court on August 20.
