A Lennox Head osteopath and yoga teacher accused of producing child abuse material and animal sexual abuse offences has been granted strict bail after appearing in court.

Stina Wangqvist, 48, was arrested during a police raid on a Lennox Head property on Friday and appeared from custody before a bail court hearing on Tuesday.

Court documents show Wangqvist has been charged with producing child abuse material, committing animal sexual abuse and possessing animal sexual abuse material.

The court granted bail subject to a series of strict conditions, including daily reporting to Ballina Police Station between 8am and 8pm.

As a dual citizen, Wangqvist was ordered to surrender her passport and is prohibited from attending international airports or other departure points from Australia.

She must reside at an approved address and is banned from using social media.

Bail conditions also prevent her from contacting children, the alleged victim, her co-accused or any prosecution witnesses except through a legal representative.

The matter was adjourned to Ballina Local Court, where Wangqvist is due to return on August 20 for a brief status committal mention.

Nine charges against male co-accused

A second person charged in the investigation, Brunswick Heads man Tore Milazzo, 47, appeared before court on June 9.

Court records show Milazzo faces nine charges, including producing child abuse material, possessing child abuse material, committing animal sexual abuse, attempting to commit animal sexual abuse, sexually touching an animal, producing animal sexual touching material, two counts of possessing a prohibited drug and failing to comply with approved firearm storage requirements.

He was also granted conditional bail and is due to appear before Byron Bay Local Court on August 3 for a brief status committal mention.

Milazzo’s bail conditions require him to report daily to Brunswick Heads Police Station and prohibit him from contacting Wangqvist or prosecution witnesses.

He is also banned from entering international airports or other departure points from Australia and must not own or possess any animals.

The court further ordered that he may only use a single mobile phone and SIM card and must provide police with access details for the device within 24 hours of obtaining it.

The charges against both accused remain before the court and have not been tested.
