
Ballina residents urged to exercise caution during king tides

Ballina Shire residents are being urged to take extra care on local roads during this week’s king tides.
Ballina Shire Council has warned that high evening tides until Thursday, July 16 could inundate several roads, with motorists, cyclists and pedestrians encouraged to avoid affected areas where possible.
Roads expected to be impacted include: Tamar Street, Ballina; Riverside Drive, West Ballina; River Street, West Ballina; Burns Point Ferry Road West Ballina;
North Creek Road, North Ballina; Southern Cross Drive, North Ballina; Uralba Road, Uralba and Old Bangalow Road, Tintenbar.
Council also reminded motorists that exposure to salt water can damage vehicles and encouraged drivers to check road conditions before travelling during the high tide period.
