Award-winning Plateau businesses will be celebrated this Saturday night as the Alstonville Wollongbar Chamber of Commerce launches a new chapter.

Winners of the recent Ballina Shire Business Awards will be recognised at a special celebration that will also unveil the Chamber’s new look and future direction.

Among those being celebrated are Plateau Tyres, which won Retail and Personal Services before being named Plateau Business of the Year, HOME Alstonville (Visitor Experience), and Young Business Leader Chris Photiou from The Trident.

The event at Plateau Sports, Alstonville, will bring together business owners, community leaders and supporters to celebrate local success while outlining the Chamber’s vision for the future.

Chamber president Jemma Coulter said the Plateau had emerged as one of the Northern Rivers’ most attractive places to live, work and do business.

“The Plateau has become a destination in its own right,” she said.

“We’re perfectly positioned between the coast and Lismore, making it an ideal location for businesses that want to service the wider Northern Rivers while enjoying everything our community has to offer.”

Ms Coulter said the region’s central location had attracted a growing number of businesses in recent years.

“We’ve welcomed many businesses that have chosen to relocate to the Plateau because it’s such a convenient base,” she said.

“Whether your customers are in Ballina, Lennox Head, Byron Bay, Lismore or the surrounding villages, you’re never far away. That accessibility is one of our biggest strengths.”

She said the Chamber’s new direction was focused on strengthening connections between businesses while helping promote the Plateau as a thriving business destination.

“We want the Chamber to be a strong voice for local business and a place where people can build relationships, share ideas and support each other.”

“This Saturday is about celebrating the incredible achievements of our local businesses, while also inviting everyone to be part of the Chamber’s next chapter.”

The evening will feature the official launch of the Chamber’s refreshed identity, recognition of the Plateau’s Business Award winners and live entertainment by the Rochelle Lees Trio.

More than 60 tickets have already been sold, with organisers encouraging anyone interested in celebrating local business success to secure a place.

The evening begins with arrivals from 6pm before the official proceedings commence at 6.30pm at Plateau Sports, Alstonville.

Tickets are $20 per person and can be booked through Eventbrite.
