Ballina Shire Council will next week consider a proposal to transform the Lennox Head water tower into a striking public artwork.

The project aims to improve the appearance of one of the town’s most visible structures while celebrating Lennox Head’s unique coastal identity through large-scale public art.

Council’s report outlines the proposed process for commissioning the mural, including artist selection, community engagement and collaboration with the tower’s owner before work proceeds.

If approved, the mural would become another significant public art feature within the shire and add to Lennox Head’s growing reputation as a destination for creative and cultural projects.

Councillors will consider whether to proceed with the next stage of planning at next Thursday’s meeting.
