The family of missing woman Stephanie Cordery says it will regroup and seek expert advice on where to search next after a major community effort around Nimbin failed to find any sign of her.

Dozens of volunteers joined family, friends and search coordinators over the weekend, concentrating on the Mount Nardi and Tuntable Falls areas, including properties around Newtons Drive.

Stephanie’s mother, Joyce Cordery-Boyd, said the family had been overwhelmed by the response but confirmed the search had produced no breakthrough.

“Unfortunately, despite the extraordinary efforts of so many people over the weekend, we have found no sign of Stephanie,” she said.

“Our search for Stephanie is not over.”

The weekend operation was coordinated by former police officer Philip “Tully” Benfield, who called for volunteers to conduct a painstaking ground search around the area where Stephanie’s car was found.

Mrs Cordery-Boyd particularly thanked residents of Newtons Drive and the wider Mount Nardi, Tuntable Falls and Nimbin communities for allowing teams onto private properties and supporting the searchers.

“They have been incredibly cooperative, supportive and generous, including allowing search teams access to their properties,” she said.

“Their kindness to our family has meant more than they may ever realise.”

The family will now reassess the information gathered so far and seek advice from people experienced in missing-person searches before deciding its next move.

Mrs Cordery-Boyd also appealed for people to avoid speculation and rumours surrounding Stephanie’s disappearance and keep the focus on finding her.

“We still need answers, and we will continue doing everything we can to find our beautiful Stephanie,” she said.

“We can’t stop. We won’t stop. We will keep searching for Stephanie.”
