Ballina’s Biggest “community focused” Morning Tea happened at L.J. Hooker this week.

There was a large amount of people wandering in and out of the Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea at LJ Hooker in River Street yesterday, with satisfied smiles on their faces.

The morning tea on offer was loaded with home made delicacies, scones, cookies, dips and slices as well as some good old favourites – Tim Tams and a selection of hot foods as well as others.

Enjoying the Morning Tea at LJ Hooker were Robert and Emily Pierce, Libia Kenk, Chris Biffin and Chris Smith enjoy the atmosphere, “The carrot cake was amazing,” Chris B said, “I had the fruit raisin slice – it was incredible,” said Chris S.

Michael Shay, LJ Hooker Principal was there to talk to the people visiting for the tea making the event special, “The ladies have done a wonderful job putting all this together.  It’s great to have so many local businesses contribute to make it what it is.”

Louise from LJ Hooker explained, “It is becoming quite an event for this area.  We had a big list of prizes donated and written up, and we have had more come in this morning!”

With a big raffle with over 20 prizes on offer from many neighbouring businesses, it is a popular place to celebrate this good cause, with over $2000 worth of prizes available.

Raffle tickets are $5 each, and so far they have raised around $2000, and raffle tickets will be on sale until next Friday.

A plethora of prizes with generous donations from many businesses

Last year, $2500 was raised for the Cancer Council, and they want to do better this year so call in at LJ Hooker and pick up some tickets.

Keep an eye out for other Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea events – a big one with a fun theme will be happening at Ballina RSL on Wednesday next week.  Click here for more details.
