An update for our readers
Ballina News Daily is pressing pause on daily publishing for the moment.
This decision follows medical advice to step back from the daily news cycle and take proper time away from the demands of running a seven-day local news service.
Since its relaunch, Ballina News Daily has built a strong and engaged audience. In the final month of 2025 alone, more than 70,000 readers checked out our stories, while our reporting reached more than 1.5 million people across social media.
That level of engagement has reinforced something important: people value independent, community-focused local journalism, and they have appreciated what Ballina News Daily has been trying to do.
At the same time, producing daily news at scale is demanding, particularly for a small, independent operation.
For now, the priority is to step back, regroup, and consider whether there is a sustainable way forward that allows this project to continue without compromising health or wellbeing.
This is intended as a pause, not a conclusion.
If a viable path emerges — whether through new arrangements, partnerships, or other solutions — readers will be updated here.
Thank you to everyone who has supported Ballina News Daily by reading, sharing stories, contributing, advertising, or offering encouragement.
That support has been noticed and deeply appreciated.
Further updates will be shared when there is news to report.
