A 52-year-old man has been charged after allegedly threatening a family member at a home in Newrybar.

Police allege the incident occurred at a property around 6.30pm on Tuesday, April 14.

The man, identified as Mark Richard Hunt, is accused of threatening to physically assault a family member during the incident.

He has been charged with stalking and intimidation.

Mr Hunt was granted bail on strict conditions, including that he reside at an address in Sydney and have no contact with the alleged victim or any witnesses.

He is due to appear before Ballina Local Court on April 30.
