A massage business operator linked to clinics in Ballina, the Gold Coast and Brisbane has pleaded not guilty to a series of alleged sexual touching offences involving five Ballina women.

Guosheng Sun, 61, of Robina, is facing five counts of sexually touching another person without consent, allegedly committed between June and October, 2025.

Ballina News Daily can reveal the five alleged victims are all women from Ballina.

Mr Sun was charged by Ballina detectives in October last year and granted conditional police bail.

His bail conditions include reporting to Tweed Heads Police Station three times a week, surrendering his passport, not contacting the five female prosecution witnesses and being of good behaviour.

The bail conditions do not prevent Sun from working in the massage industry.

The allegations have not been proven in court and Sun has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Mr Sun has previously been associated with massage businesses operating across Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Ballina.

However, inquiries by Ballina News Daily suggest ownership and operation of several of those businesses may have changed since the charges were laid.

Staff contacted at businesses in Coolangatta and Brisbane said Sun was no longer involved with those outlets, while associated premises at Robina and other locations appear to have closed.

A woman who answered the phone at Sun’s Massage in Ballina on Thursday initially said Sun was in China.

When Ballina News Daily pointed out his bail conditions include surrendering his passport, she said he may instead be in Brisbane.

She said Sun was still the owner of the Ballina business, but had not worked there “for a long time”.

The Ballina outlet continues to trade from Ballina Central Shopping Centre.

ASIC records show “Sun’s Massage Centre” remains a registered business name.

The listing identifies a Tweed Heads South address as the principal place of business and names the holder as the trustee for the Sunny Family Trust.

Online business listings and a website linked to Sun’s Massage continue to advertise massage services in Ballina.

According to online promotional material previously associated with the business, “Dr Sun” described himself as having more than 30 years’ experience in acupuncture and massage.

The profile stated he graduated from the Henan University of Chinese Medicine in 1985 and worked for 15 years at the affiliated hospital before later completing a PhD linked to studies through Henan University of Chinese Medicine and Hong Kong University in 2001.

The material also claimed he specialised in treating conditions including migraines, sciatica, arthritis, frozen shoulder, stress and depression through acupuncture, massage and traditional Chinese medicine.

Ballina News Daily contacted businesses previously linked to Sun and also attempted to contact him directly for comment.

Ballina News Daily does not suggest Sun is guilty of the allegations against him.

The charges were laid by police and will be determined by the court.

The matter is due to return to Ballina Local Court on May 28.
