Funding of up to $150,000 is available for rugby clubs, associations and councils across NSW.
Local rugby union clubs are being encouraged to apply for funding from a statewide $2.15 million pool through the NSW Government’s NSW Rugby World Cup Legacy Program.
Lismore MP Janelle Saffin said local councils, rugby clubs and associations should take advantage of the opportunity to upgrade facilities, strengthen player pathways and increase participation in the sport.
The NSW Rugby World Cup Legacy Program offers grants ranging from $5,000 to $150,000 for rugby associations, clubs and councils. The funding is part of the NSW Office of Sport’s $10 million investment in rugby following NSW securing matches during the Men’s Rugby World Cup 2027.
“Already 38 clubs, associations and councils have benefited from $2.15 million in grant funding and Round 2 will again ensure all levels of the sport benefit from investment in infrastructure, equipment and participation programs,” Ms Saffin said.
Applications close Friday, 14 August 2026.
