
East Coraki man, Ballina woman face serious child abuse charges

A 50 year old self-employed tradesman from East Coraki and a 52 year old Ballina woman have both been refused bail after being charged in a Child Abuse Squad investigation in the Northern Rivers.
The alleged offences happened between February and May 2026, with court documents listing Ballina and East Coraki as locations connected to the matters.
The man was arrested at a Northern Rivers property about 8.30am on June 30, before being taken to Casino Police Station.
About an hour later, a crime scene warrant was carried out at a Northern Rivers property, where a number of items and an amount of drugs were seized.
The man was charged with 31 offences, including 19 counts of aggravated sexual assault of a victim under the age of 16, nine counts of supplying a prohibited drug of less than a small quantity to a child under 16 by an adult, one count of intentionally sexually touching a child aged over 10 and under 16, and two counts of procuring a child for unlawful sexual activity.
The nine drug supply charges relate to cannabis and methamphetamine.
A second person, a 52 year old Ballina woman, was arrested in the Northern Rivers on the following day.
She was taken to Ballina Police Station and charged with 10 offences, including five counts of aggravated sexual assault of a victim under the age of 16, three counts of supplying a prohibited drug of less than a small quantity to a child under 16 by an adult, one count of intentionally sexually touching a child aged over 10 and under 16, and one count of procuring a child for unlawful sexual activity.
Both were refused bail and the matters remain before the court..
The woman is due back in Lismore Local Court on August 26.
The man is due back in Ballina Local Court on August 27.
