Registrations are now open for the 2026 NAB Darrel Chapman Fun Run, with organisers hoping to attract more than 1,500 participants when the popular community event returns to Lismore on Sunday, 30 August.
Hosted by Our Kids in partnership with NAB, Lismore City Council and The Lord’s Taverners, the annual event raises funds to support local children and families accessing healthcare across the Northern Rivers.
Participants can choose from the free Terania Consulting 4km Walk/Run, the Lord’s Taverners 10km Walk/Run, the Lismore City Council Masters Games Half Marathon (21km) or the Southern Cross University Virtual Marathon.
Our Kids Fundraising Coordinator Rebekka Battista said the free 4km event remains an important part of the day, but encouraged participants to register online before the event.
“Registration is essential so we can account for everyone on the course and ensure the event runs safely,” she said.
Ms Battista said participants also have the opportunity to purchase an Our Kids event shirt and make a donation to help support local children and families requiring medical care.
Businesses, schools and community groups are also invited to enter the NAB Team Community or Corporate Challenge and the Lismore Workers Club School Challenge, with trophies awarded to the highest fundraising teams.
More than 1,200 people took part in last year’s event, with organisers aiming to grow participation to more than 1,500 this year.
Early bird registrations close on 31 July, with discounted entry available for the 10km and half marathon events. Participants registering early for the 10km and 21km events can also personalise their race bib with their name or nickname.
