A Ballina man who had been the subject of a police appeal after going missing has been found safe.
Caine Tierney, 47, had last been seen on Ross Street, Ballina, about 12.30pm on Wednesday, June 24, prompting concerns for his welfare and a public appeal by NSW Police.
Late yesterday, Mr Tierney’s family confirmed on social media that he had been found and was safe.
They said he is currently receiving treatment at Lismore Base Hospital.
The family also expressed their gratitude to the community for its support during the search.
NSW Police had earlier described Mr Tierney as being of Caucasian appearance, about 175cm tall, of large build, with a shaved head, a red and greying beard, and blue-green eyes.
Police are expected to formally conclude the missing person investigation.
