Tap and Go on buses comes to Ballina

Commuters in Ballina can now tap and go on local buses, as the NSW Government rolls out contactless payments across regional networks.

The system is now active on nearly 350 buses across 47 regional locations, including Lismore and Byron Bay.

Passengers can pay using phones, smartwatches or bank cards, with cash still accepted.

The rollout was completed in 10 months and has already processed more than 140,000 trips, with about 40 per cent of passengers using tap-and-go.
