The NSW Government has thrown its support behind the return of the Seas The Day Women’s Surfing Festival at Kingscliff next month.

The four-day event, promoted as the world’s largest women’s surfing festival, is expected to again draw thousands of competitors and spectators to the North Coast.

More than 15,000 people attended the 2025 festival, with a record 314 women competing across the surfing events.

The State Government has kicked in $110,000 to support the event, with NRMA Insurance also a key sponsor.

The festival combines surfing competitions with wellness activities including yoga, ice baths, breathwork sessions and workshops focused on physical and mental health.

A crowd favourite, the Celebrity Surf Challenge, will also return in 2026, bringing together world champions, Olympians and media personalities in the water to support women’s participation in sport.

North Coast Minister Janelle Saffin said the event would deliver another strong boost for the local economy and tourism operators.

“Our region has shown incredible resilience over the past year. Events like Seas The Day bring our community together while showcasing our world-class breaks to thousands of visitors,” she said.

Surfing Australia chief executive Chris Symington said the festival had become a key event on the national surfing calendar.

“The strong levels of participation, community engagement and performance highlight the positive trajectory the sport is on,” he said.

The NSW Government said it continued to invest in women’s sport through its Play Her Way strategy, aimed at breaking down barriers for women and girls in sport across the state.

The Seas The Day festival will be held at Kingscliff Beach in June.
