The mother of missing woman Stephanie Cordery has made a heartfelt plea for help as the police search operation for her daughter draws to a close.

Stephanie, 42, has now been missing for almost two weeks, with her family saying she disappeared from Newtons Road at Mt Nardi at about 6.15am on Wednesday, August 5.

Her mother, Joyce Cordery-Boyd, issued a fresh appeal on Sunday night, asking residents around Nimbin, Mt Nardi and Tuntable Falls to remain vigilant and check their properties again.

“Steph disappeared from Newtons Road, Mt Nardi, at approximately 6.15am on Wednesday, 5 August,” she said.

“As of tonight, Sunday 16 August, she has still not been located.”

Mrs Cordery-Boyd said an extensive search had been carried out by NSW Police rescue teams, emergency services, volunteers, local organisations, friends and family.

But with the police search operation drawing to a close, the family is desperate for information that could help explain what happened to Stephanie.

Residents in the Nimbin, Mt Nardi and Tuntable Falls areas are being asked to check all parts of their properties again, particularly sheds, abandoned buildings, outbuildings and other places which may not have been looked at recently.

The family is also asking people to review security camera and dashcam footage and to spread the word to people living off-grid or without internet access who may not have seen the online appeals.

“If you have seen Steph, or have any information — no matter how insignificant you think it may be — please contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Lismore Police immediately,” Mrs Cordery-Boyd said.

She thanked police, emergency services, volunteers and community members who have taken part in the extensive search.

“Once again, thank you to the Lismore Police, all emergency service personnel, volunteers, our family, friends and the wider community for your unwavering support, kindness and compassion during this incredibly difficult time,” she said.

“We are truly grateful.”

An earlier appeal posted by Stephanie’s friend Danielle Pickford also asked people across Ballina, Lismore and Nimbin to check CCTV, doorbell cameras and dashcam footage as friends attempted to piece together Stephanie’s movements.

“Please don’t assume something you saw or know is too insignificant to report,” Ms Pickford said.

“Even a small piece of information could help establish Steph’s movements and help bring her home.”

Piecing together Stephanie’s movements

The family’s latest appeal provides a clearer picture of Stephanie’s movements than was available when police first sought public assistance.

Police originally said Stephanie was last seen on Woodlark Street, Lismore, about 5.30am on August 5 and said there were concerns for her welfare because she has a medical condition and requires medication.

Her family now says she disappeared from Newtons Road at Mt Nardi at about 6.15am that morning.

Ms Pickford’s earlier appeal had sought information and footage from Ballina from about 3pm on August 4, particularly around River Street and surrounding areas.

It also sought footage from Lismore and along the route from South Lismore towards Nimbin and Newton Drive on the morning of August 5.

Ballina News Daily contacted police seeking an update on the investigation, including clarification of reports that Stephanie’s car had been located in Nimbin.

Police did not confirm those reports, saying only that inquiries to locate Stephanie were continuing.

Stephanie is described by police as being of Caucasian appearance, about 165cm tall, of medium build, with brown hair.

Anyone who has seen Stephanie, has relevant CCTV or dashcam footage, or has any other information that could assist is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Lismore Police.
